	Logbooks You can file a complaint before the State Information Commission presenting your arguments in favor of disclosure of the information. You should be able to establish the link between the disclosure of the information and your father’s life. Even information exempt under section 8(1) can be disclosed if public interest in disclosure outweighs the harm to the protected interests. Section 8 (2) states as follows: “Notwithstanding anything in the Official Secrets Act, 1923 nor any of the exemptions permissible in accordance with sub-section (1), a public authority may allow access to information, if public interest in disclosure outweighs the harm to the protected interests.” Back
